Hoyoverse, formerly Mihoyo, the creator of Genshin Impact, openly admitted in a GDC 2021 presentation that the company's approach to  Diablo IV Gold character design revolved around obtaining the most capital from its audience. The Raiden Shogun and Kokomi character reruns alone brought in more than $33 million for the business in March 2022.

Memes and mockery were used to immortalize the event, a lot of which were based on unrealistic audience expectations: Diablo 4 rumors were on the minds of attendees at BlizzCon 2018. However, it also resulted from a persistent stigma associated with mobile games in the West, where smartphone use as a gaming platform has slowed compared to the rest of the world.

As alpha and beta tests demonstrated, "Diablo Immortal" is a full-throated, classic Diablo experience, the game's reputation has improved since then. It helped that Snowstorm chose to carry the game to PC.) The Diablo series is one of the most influential in modern game design because it popularized gameplay loops that revolve around acquiring random "loot" to increase your role-playing character's strength. This loop was established by the recent remastering of Diablo 2, whereas Cheng's work on Diablo 3, on the other hand, streamlined and improved it.

Even though the moment in 2018 was difficult for Cheng and the team, he stated that it only strengthened their resolve to demonstrate that "Immortal" is a game worthy of the Diablo series, as the free-to-play launch of the game on mobile devices brings the franchise to its largest possible audience to date. The game comes out on June 2.

In a recent interview, Cheng's enthusiasm for the project was evident. Cheng stated to The Washington Post, "I do believe that'Diablo Immortal' is going to change a lot of people's cheap Diablo IV Gold  minds on what they think of as a mobile game." That was one of our initial objectives. Let's set higher standards for what mobile games should be like.
